Redundant VPS hosting infrastructure
An infrastructure designed for maximum uptime
Distributed storage protects your VPS data
The virtual disk of your Linux or Windows cloud virtual servers are replicated three times over a distributed storage platform, powered by Ceph. If any SSD disk, or physical server hosting those disks, fails, others will instantly take over, with no data loss or interruption.
Automatic VPS failover and recovery
Our hypervisors, the physical servers that host your Linux or Windows cloud virtual servers, are enterprise grade and built with multiple layers of redundancy. But if one were to fail, another one will take over within minutes.
Redundant networking for VPS uptime
Designed with MC-LAG (multi chassis link aggregation groups), not spanning tree, our 40/100G switching network is designed for instant failover in the case of a network switch or cabling failure. In fact, we can reboot any single network switch at any time and your Linux or Windows cloud virtual servers will not experience any interruption.
High-performance VPS hosting hardware
We've been specializing in Linux and Windows cloud virtual server hosting for over a decade
Intel Xeon processors power your VPS
We only use Intel E5 processors in multi CPU configurations to provide your cloud virtual servers with the fastest performance possible for your cloud computing needs.
NVMe storage for fast VPS performance
Your virtual machine's data will be served fast from Ceph-distributed NVMe storage, triple-replicated across multiple physical nodes for both speed and fault tolerance.
High-speed networking for your VPS
Unlike our competitors, there is not a single 1g cable or port anywhere in our cloud computing virtual server platform. Everything is as fast as current technology provides.
Free private networking (VLAN) between your VPS servers
Every virtual server comes with three network interfaces: two for public Internet access (IPv4 and IPv6) and one in a private subnet (192.168.0.0/16).
Your applications can exchange data directly and securely. No traffic leaves our network.
Perfect for distributed setups like Hadoop, Redis clusters, Cassandra, MongoDB, and internal services.
On-demand Windows and cPanel deployments
Installing cPanel can be a time consuming task. With our Client Portal, you can deploy a cPanel based Linux server, including its proper licensing, with just a few clicks.
And if you need Windows, in just minutes, you can easily deploy any of the following editions:
- Windows 2008 R2
- Windows 2012 R2
- Windows 2016
- Windows 2019
- Windows 2022
- Windows 2025

VPS hosting data centers
Our VPS hosting infrastructure is deployed at premium data center facilities from leading providers including Equinix, Flexential, Interxion, and Cologix. These facilities offer the highest levels of physical security, redundant power feeds, and reliable cooling systems.
Partnering with world-class data center providers ensures consistent uptime, optimal network performance, and fast Internet connectivity for your VPS hosting servers across all six global locations.
VPS hosting infrastructure built with decades of experience
Designing and building Internet infrastructures is what we have been doing since the late 20th century. It has allowed us to gather the experience necessary to build ColossusCloud, as well as our network and data center designs.
Then, we choose some of the best data center facilities around the world; the same facilities that also host parts of the big players, such as AWS, Google and Azure.
We are making sure everything at ServerPoint just simply runs efficiently and that our service is top grade.
Multi-homed BGP network for VPS hosting
ServerPoint is one of the very few web hosting companies in the world that operate their own global network. We are also connected to the largest networks in the world: Cogent, Zayo, NTT, and others, giving us direct access to all worldwide internet networks.
Why choose ServerPoint for VPS hosting?
We keep it easy, we keep it affordable and we are passionate about performance. We've been creating great cloud products for over two decades while all that time making sure our clients are happy. We do not oversell our capacity and we do not overload our support team; when you reach out to us, someone will take care of you fast.
-
We do not oversell our cloud's capacity
For example, when you deploy a virtual server with 4GBs of RAM, those 4GBs are yours. Even if your cloud virtual server isn't using it all, it is reserved for you. We also ensure that there is plenty of CPU power available for your needs.
-
Our staff is in-house; we do not outsource our support
Our highly experienced team is available 24/7, not only to take care of any issues, but also to help you with advice on how to best set up your infrastructure.
Frequently asked questions
What is the difference between "instance", "cloud", "virtual server", "VPS hosting" or "virtual machine"?
Shocking truth: they are all the same. Amazon AWS calls their Linux virtual servers an "instance", Microsoft's Azure calls them "virtual servers". The term "VPS", or virtual private server, is also used widely. But all of them are the same concept: an operating system, with a specific amount of RAM, CPU and disk space, running within a virtualized environment, along with other virtual servers, in a physical server.
How is the service billed?
We bill all servers by the hour. This means you can deploy a server for just a day or two to test a new version of your application and then you just delete the virtual server. Or, you can keep them running for years. To begin, you first make a "deposit" of funds into your account and as the hours go by, we deduct the hourly price of your virtual servers from that deposit. Before the deposit runs out, we will automatically refill your account by charging your credit card for an amount equal to the next 30 days of service. You may also pay by PayPal.
How much RAM, CPU and disk space do you recommend?
Unlike Linux' low RAM requirements, Windows does require a good amount of RAM; take that into consideration if using Windows. If you don't know your requirements, we recommend everyone to start with a plan that includes either 4GBs or 8GBs of RAM.
How long has ColossusCloud existed?
The first release of our platform was in 2016. Since then, tens of thousands of clients have deployed and hosted their virtual servers with us.
